St. Olaf secured its 11th appearance in the MIAC Playoffs (2004-07, 2009-12, 2022-23, 2025) with a 3-0 victory at Bethel University on Saturday behind a hat trick from junior
Molly Terebayza and a fifth consecutive shutout from first year
Baylyn Shankman. The Oles have appeared in the field in three of the last four seasons and are looking for their first playoff win since the 2010 quarterfinals. St. Olaf is 3-10 all-time in the MIAC Playoffs, winning one game each in 2006, 2009, and 2010.
Saint Mary's is also in the MIAC Playoffs for the third time in four seasons and qualified for the tournament for the 16th time overall (2000-07, 2010, 2015-16, 2019-20, 2022, 2024-25). The Cardinals are 9-14-2 all-time in the MIAC Playoffs and are one of five programs to have won the tournament, doing so in 2002. Last season, Saint Mary's advanced to the championship game as the No. 3 seed before falling to top-seeded Gustavus Adolphus College by a 2-0 score.
Two weekends ago, St. Olaf and Saint Mary's split their regular-season series, with both teams winning on their home ice. The Cardinals scored once in each period to claim a
3-1 victory on Feb. 14 in Winona before Shankman and the Oles shut out Saint Mary's by a
4-0 score the next day in Northfield. The 4-0 victory was St. Olaf's second in the last 12 meetings between the two programs going back to 2019.
