St. Olaf's top-two doubles pairings of seniors Olha Zubarieva and Jane Spading and senior Fiona O'Flaherty and junior Alexandra Berns got the Oles out to a 2-1 lead in doubles with 8-5 and 8-6 victories after St. Kate's put the first point on the board at No. 3 doubles. St. Kate's got a straight-set win at No. 1 singles, but senior Sarah Clark cruised to a 6-1, 6-1 win at No. 5 singles to bring St. Olaf within one of the necessary five points. The Wildcats again got within one with a straight-set victory at No. 6 singles, leaving St. Kate's needing wins at both No. 3 and No. 4 singles to complete the comeback.
