RIVER FALLS, Wis. – The St. Olaf College women's tennis team cruised to a 6-1 victory over UW-River Falls and a 7-0 win over the University of Minnesota Morris on non-conference play on Saturday afternoon at Ramer Field Tennis Courts.
After securing a spot in the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) Playoffs last week, St. Olaf (11-3) snapped a three-match losing streak by topping UW-River Falls (6-12) and Minnesota Morris (3-8). St. Olaf's four seniors went a combined 12-0 on the day to lead the way for the Oles.
St. Olaf will conclude the regular season with a trip to Macalester College to face the Scots at 11 a.m. on Saturday, April 26.

To start the day, St. Olaf lost just two games in the three doubles matches and won five of the six singles matches in straight sets to defeat UW-River Falls in the first meeting between the two programs since 2017. Seniors

Alexandra Berns and
Emma Clift posted 6-0 victories at No. 1 and No. 3 doubles, while Spading/Clark picked up a 6-2 win in the doubles sweep. Zubarieva/O'Flaherty and Spading/Clark both improved to 3-0 as a tandem, while Berns and Clift won their first match as a partnership.
In singles, O'Flaherty did not drop a game at No. 3 singles, Zubarieva lost just two at No. 1 singles, and Spading lost just three at No. 2 singles. Clark won a tight first set before rolling in the second of a 7-5, 6-0 win at No. 4 singles. First year
Evelyn Smiley earned her first collegiate singles victory with a 6-2, 6-4 win at No. 6 singles.

St. Olaf again started the match by sweeping the three doubles matches at the loss of just four games. The Oles wrapped up the day with six straight-set singles wins to blank the Cougars.

Elliana Loesch were victorious in their first matches together. O'Flaherty and Clark recorded a 6-1 win at No. 2 doubles, while Sloane and Loesch registered a 6-3 victory at No. 3 doubles.
Zubarieva, Spading, O'Flaherty, and Clark all lost four games or fewer in their straight-set victories at the top-four singles spots. O'Flaherty's win was her team-leading 13th of the season, while Spading picked up her 12th victory, Clark claimed her 11th, and Zubarieva collected her ninth.

Mads Hockmuth ran her record to 4-3 on the season with a 6-2, 6-4 win at No. 5 singles, while first year
Lidia Bach registered her first collegiate singles win by a 6-4, 6-1 margin at No. 6 singles.
