NORTHFIELD, Minn. – The No. 25-ranked St. Olaf College women's cross country team placed 18th out of 35 teams at the Running of the Cows "Pre-Nationals" meet at Carleton College's Bill Huyck Championship Course on Saturday.
In a preview of the NCAA Division III Cross Country Championships at the site of the event in November, St. Olaf was 18th in a field that included 18 nationally-ranked teams. Of the 18 nationally-ranked squads to run in the Women's Navy Championship race, 12 were ranked in the top 20 this week by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA).

Louisa Lamarre ran a personal-best eight-kilometer time of 22:05.9 to finish 26th in the field of 324 finishers. Classmate
Abi Lindquist was also in the top 100 for the Oles, taking 90th in a season-best time of 22:49.4.

Lizzy Weider joined Lamarre in posting her fastest 8K time of the season, clocking in at 23:07.6 for a 122nd-place result. First year
Stella Powell (148th, 23:21.8) and sophomore
Anna Peikert (156th, 23:24.9) were the Oles' No. 4 and No. 5 finishers, respectively.
Earlier in the morning, St. Olaf took fifth in the Women's Maize Division race, led by a 39th-place showing from first year
Sophie Stephens in 23:40.4.
The Oles will be off of competition until splitting their team between the CSB+SJU Autumn Classic and Connecticut College Invitational on Saturday, Oct. 17.
