DAVENPORT, Fla. – The St. Olaf College baseball team began its Florida trip with a 10-0, seven-inning loss to UW-Stevens Point on Thursday afternoon at Northeast Regional Park.
UW-Stevens Point (5-3) scored five runs in the second inning and five more in its final two times at the plate to blank St. Olaf (4-7) in run-rule fashion. The Pointers took advantage of five St. Olaf errors and held the Oles to two hits in the game.

Mason Buck and
Henry Black accounted for St. Olaf's two hits in the loss, with Buck delivering a double in the first and Black a one-out single in the second. The Oles got at least one runner on base in five of its seven innings at the plate but was 0-for-7 with runners on in the game.
St. Olaf left a runner on second in the first and runners on first and second in the second before UW-Stevens Point took advantage of two errors to score five runs on five hits in the bottom of the second. The Oles held the Pointers scoreless over the middle innings before UW-Stevens Point plated two runs in the sixth and three more in the seventh to end the game via the run rule.
Four St. Olaf pitchers worked in the game, with first year
Tate Williams being the lone one to not allow a run. Williams worked around two hits in a scoreless third inning. First year
Zach Feit tossed a team-high 2.2 innings in his collegiate debut.
St. Olaf will look to bounce back with a 9:30 a.m. CDT first pitch against UW-Eau Claire on Friday, March 20.
