PLATTEVILLE, Wis. – The St. Olaf College women's soccer team extended its unbeaten streak to five games with a 2-2 tie at UW-Platteville on Saturday evening at Ralph E. Davis Pioneer Stadium.

Junior Rachel Anderson and senior Emily Johnson continued to provide the goals for St. Olaf (2-0-3), which held a 2-1 halftime lead before UW-Platteville (1-2-2) scored the lone goal of the second half with 10 minutes remaining. The game was just the second-ever meeting between the two programs and the first since 1990.

Johnson tied Hall of Famer Kelsey Watt '07 for second in program history with 83 career points with a goal and an assist in the tie. Anderson tallied the other goal for the Oles, who were outshot by a 22-14 margin overall and a 15-7 margin in shots on goal.
Anderson gave St. Olaf an early lead by firing the ball into the lower-left corner from outside the box in the sixth minute for her third goal of the season. The junior has either a goal or an assist in all five of the Oles' games this season.

UW-Platteville tied the game 10 minutes later when Mira Petri cut in from the left and looped a shot up and over sophomore Charlotte Percy and inside the far post. Johnson nearly restored St. Olaf's lead in the 35th minute, but her right-footed shot from the top of the box hit squarely off the right post.

Johnson did give the Oles a halftime lead in the final minute of the opening half with her team-leading seventh goal of the season. After running most of the length of the field, the senior cut in from the right and snuck a shot off the goalkeeper and inside the near post. Johnson has scored in each of St. Olaf's last four games with seven goals over that stretch.

The Oles maintained their 2-1 lead until Emma Verdon found the roof of the net after a corner kick was not cleared to earn the Pioneers a tie. Percy, whose career high was six saves coming into the night, surpassed that total with seven in the first half and finished with a career-high 13 stops.

St. Olaf will open Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) play with a trip to Gustavus Adolphus College for a 4 p.m. start on Wednesday, Sept. 16.
