St. Olaf College Athletics

Tony Mathison has been a resident of Northfield since 1985. Originally from Brainerd, Mathison graduated from St. Cloud State in 1985. 

Mathison is an elementary physical education teacher at Northfield and served as the varsity baseball coach there from 1985-2015. He also was the eighth grade football coach for 27 years and head girls basketball coach for 18 years. 

His wife, Cheryl, teaches in the Northfield school district as well. They have three children, Todd, Megan and Jake. Todd and Jake both played baseball for the Oles, with Todd graduating in 2009 and Jake in 2018.
