Matt Ostdiek is in his second season as an assistant coach for the St. Olaf men's golf program in 2026-27 after being hired in August 2025.
In his first season with the program, St. Olaf posted its highest finish at the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) Championships since 2011 with a fourth-place performance and had two All-MIAC honorees in Ryan Herbst and Isaac Schmidt. The Oles finished the 2025-26 season with their lowest team scoring average (303.2) since at least 2010-11 by nearly three strokes.
A 12-year member at Northfield Golf Club, Ostdiek helped turn the club golf program at the University of Minnesota into an official National Collegiate Club Golf Association (NCCGA) program and served as the president while he was a student. He has caddied at Interlachen, in State Arms, State Opens, and PGA Tour Canada events. Ostdiek was also the medalist at the Minnesota State Am Qualifier held at Northfield Golf Club in 2020.
