Kevin Brochman is in his 13th season as the head coach of the St. Olaf men's and women's Nordic skiing teams in 2023-24. He served as the Oles' head coach from 2003-07 and returned to the Hill prior to the 2015-16 season.
Since 2015-16, Brochman’s women’s teams finished in the top four in the combined standings at the USCSA National Championships every season, with two runner-up finishes, a third-place finish, and a fourth-place finish, in addition to the four first-place finishes. The St. Olaf women won 16 of the 30 team titles over that stretch, while accounting for 64 All-America performances and nine individual national titles.
Over that same period, the St. Olaf men recorded a pair of runner-up finishes in the team combined standings, doing so in 2017-18 and 2019-20. The Oles won team event titles in each of those seasons, winning the Freestyle Sprint Relay in 2017-18 and the 7.5K Freestyle in 2019-20. Under Brochman’s direction, the St. Olaf men’s program produced 29 All-America performances and two individual national titles since 2015-16.
In tandem with the St. Olaf men’s and women’s alpine skiing teams, the Oles finished in the top three in the USCSA President’s Award standings in both genders in of the last seven seasons of the competition, including winning the women’s President’s Award five times (2016-17, 2017-18, 2021-22, 2022-23, 2023-24) and the men’s President’s Award once (2017-18).
Brochman represented the United States as a member of the 1984 and 1988 Winter Olympic teams and went on to coach the 1998 Winter Olympic team, as well as the 2001 World Junior team. He was named the 1997 U.S. Ski Team Coach of the Year.
