Patrick Wadzinski

Patrick Wadzinski is in the third season of his second stint - and 11th season season overall - as an assistant coach for the St. Olaf softball program in 2023-24.

Wadzinski previously spent eight seasons with the program from 2010-17, helping the Oles to 128 wins over that stretch. In his first season with the program in 2010, St. Olaf qualified for the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) Playoffs for the first time since the event's inception in 2000. Three years later, the Oles qualified again and won two games in the tournament.

Wadzinski was a four-year starter for the St. Olaf baseball team from 2005-09 and was named the team's captain in 2009. He was team MVP in his senior season and was named third-team All-Midwest Region during a season where he hit .362 with eight stolen bases, 41 runs, two home runs, and a .986 fielding percentage. Wadzinski holds St. Olaf baseball's single-season walks record with 36 in 2009, a season in which he struck out only eight times in 189 plate appearances.

He also played football at St. Olaf, where he was a placekicker in 2009. He was a perfect 12-for-12 on extra points and was 3-for-7 on field goals, tallying 21 points.
