Riley Mauzer '23 is in her first season as an assistant athletic trainer at St. Olaf in 2025-26 after being hired in July 2025. She primarily works with the men's and women's cross country, men's and women's track and field, women's hockey, and men's and women's golf programs.
A former women's cross country and track and field student-athlete at St. Olaf, Mauzer returned to the Hill after working as an immersion student at Marquette University for eight months, where she worked primarily with the men's soccer and women's basketball programs. Before that, she did clinical rotations with the Saint Mary's University women's soccer program, as well as the Winona State University football, track and field, and softball programs.
Originally from Boulder Junction, Wis., Mauzer graduated from St. Olaf in 2023 with a bachelor of arts in kinesiology and went on to earn her master of science in athletic training from Winona State in 2025. She was the recipient of the Winona State Athletic Training Alumni Scholarship in 2024 and completed research on accelerated vs. conservative rehabilitation after ACL reconstruction.
While at St. Olaf, Mauzer served as a sports medicine assistant and a supplemental instruction leader for anatomy and physiology students. She also ran on St. Olaf's Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) runner-up distance medley relay in 2021-22.
Mauzer's professional certifications and memberships include: Certified Athletic Trainer by the BOC, Licensed Athletic Trainer through the Minnesota Department of Medical Practice, certified in Basic Life Support CPR/AED by the American Red Cross, member of the National Athletic Trainers’ Association (NATA), Great Lakes Athletic Trainers’ Association (GLATA), Minnesota Athletic Trainers’ Association (MATA).
