John Bazzachini led the women's hockey program at St. Olaf for 14 seasons from 2005-06 to 2018-19, compiling a career record of 112-216-31 (.355).
In his 14 seasons, the Oles appeared in the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) Playoffs six times and went 87-129-23 (.412) in MIAC play.
In 2006-07, Bazzachini guided the Oles to a 15-10-1 (.596) record, the best of his time on the Hill, leading to MIAC Coach of the Year honors. The Oles finished tied for second in the MIAC, the top finish in program history, with a 12-5-1 record in conference play before falling to St. Thomas in the MIAC Playoff semfinals. The team was led by All-Americans Susannah Brokl and Lindsey Boeser.
Bazzachini played two years of Division I hockey for the United States Air Force Academy, before transferring to and graduating from Saint John's University (Minn.). He was a two-time All-MIAC pick at Saint John's, leading the Johnnies in scoring both seasons, and captained the Johnnies in 1981.
Bazzachini coached the boys teams at Irondale High School for eight years and Hopkins for two seasons before joining St. Olaf's women's hockey staff in 2005.
He also served as a head coach for the CODP (Community Olympic Development Program), and is founder and President of John Bazzachini's Hockey Training, started in 1986, which trains over 700 kids a summer.
A native of Hibbing, Minn., Bazzachini and his wife, Pam, have three daughters; Bailey, Lauren and Jennifer.
