Assitant coach, Kevin Gorg, returns for his seventh year with the St. Olaf program in for the 2015-16 season. His main responsibilities include working with the goalies and offering general guidance and tips to the entire roster.
Gorg has a long and very successful record as a head coach, coaching the Burnsville and Mounds View High School boys and as the head coach of the women's program at the University of St. Thomas. During that stretch, Gorg compiled a 143-75-13 record and won two MIAC Champioships.
As a player he was the winning goaltender on the 1985 State Championship team for Burnsville High School before playing a full season for the Des Moines Buccaneers of the United States Hockey League. Gorg played from 1987-90 at the University of St. Thomas where he was All-Conference his final two seasons and won three conference titles. Kevin returned to St. Thomas in 1991 as a graduate assistant for Terry Skrypek and was the head junior varsity coach and varsity goalie coach.
In addition to helping the Oles, Gorg just finished his tenth season as a hockey analyst for Fox Sports North, covering the Minnesota Wild, Minnesota Gophers and local high school hockey. He also works at Canterbury Park.
