Amber Kern completed her first season as an assistant coach for the St. Olaf women's soccer program in 2022-23.

The 10 wins matched the program's most since 2010 and the seven MIAC victories were tied for the most in program history. St. Olaf claimed its first-ever victory in the MIAC Playoffs with a quarterfinal win over Saint Mary's.

A former NCAA Division I student-athlete at the University of Akron, Kern started 72 of the 74 games she played for the Zips from 2010-13 and ranks second in program history in games started and games played. She was a Second Team All-Mid-American Conference (MAC) honoree as a sophomore after anchoring a defense that recorded eight shutouts.
Kern went on to play for the Columbus Eagles in the Women's Professional Soccer League (WPSL) from 2015-19 and was a two-time WPSL All-Star.
Prior attending Akron, she was a four-year varsity letterwinner at Dublin Coffman High School, finishing her career with 83 points on 28 goals and 27 assists. As a senior, she was a First Team All-Central Division and All-Ohio Capital Conference honoree, as her team won district and regional titles and finished as a state finalist.Â
In addition to her playing experience, Kern coached for Ohio Premier Eagles Soccer Club from 2015-16.
