Antone Truss is in his fourth season as an assistant coach for the St. Olaf College men's and women's track and field programs in 2025-26 and works primarily with the hurdles, jumps, and combined events groups.
A former three-time national qualifier at NCAA Division III Wilmington College, Truss joined the coaching staffs of head coaches Brian Power and Patti Bayer after spending the 2021-22 season as an assistant coach for the track and field cross country programs at Mount St. Joseph University in Cincinnati, Ohio.
 Â
At Mount St. Joseph, Truss developed and implemented track-specific workouts and strength and conditioning plans for the sprints and jumps squads and was involved with recruiting on a daily basis, in addition to other tasks. The jumps squad included sophomore Justin Dreyling, who earned All-America honors with a fourth-place finish in the triple jump at the NCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field Championships and broke the school record in the event (15.09m).
 Â
Prior to his time at Mount St. Joseph, Truss spent the 2019-20 and 2020-21 seasons as an assistant cross country and track and field coach at Heidelberg University, helping the women’s long jump squad to a national ranking as high as No. 7 in the country and assisting with bringing in two of the largest first-year classes in recent program history. Truss began his coaching career as a graduate assistant coach at Hanover College during the 2018-19 season.
Â
During his coaching career, Truss has coached five All-Americans, seven national qualifiers, 19 all-region honorees, two conference champions, and 10 all-conference selections. He was a three-time national qualifier and three-time all-region honoree during his career at Wilmington and was ranked as high as No. 6 in the country in the high jump. He was also a three-time All-Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) honoree in the high jump, including winning the outdoor conference title in the event in 2017.
Â
Truss graduated from Wilmington in 2018 with a bachelor of science degree in exercise science. He is certified through the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) and holds ALTIS certifications in the short sprints, pole vault, and high jump.
