Antone Truss is in his first full season as the head men's track and field coach at St. Olaf in 2026-27 after assuming the role in March 2026. He is in his fifth season overall at St. Olaf after previously serving as an assistant coach for the men's and women's programs, primarily working with the hurdles, jumps, and combined events groups.
Under Truss' leadership, St. Olaf was the runner-up at the 2026 Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) Outdoor Championships while recording 10 individual All-MIAC performances, two All-MIAC relays, seven Honorable Mention All-MIAC individual results, and one honorable-mention relay. St. Olaf also had MIAC outdoor champions in the long jump, 800-meter run, 10,000-meter run, and 4x800-meter relay.
Three Oles earned four U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) All-North Region honors during the 2026 outdoor season. Max Albertson '27 and Kevin Turlington '26 also claimed First Team All-America honors, with Turlington finishing third in the 10,000-meter run and Albertson placing fourth in the long jump, to lead the Oles to a tie for 21st in the team standings at the 2026 NCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field Championships. Turlington also qualified for the national meet in the 5,000-meter run and was a Second Team All-American by placing 13th.
A former three-time national qualifier at NCAA Division III Wilmington College, Truss came to St. Olaf after spending the 2021-22 season as an assistant coach for the track and field cross country programs at Mount St. Joseph University in Cincinnati, Ohio.

At Mount St. Joseph, Truss developed and implemented track-specific workouts and strength and conditioning plans for the sprints and jumps squads and was involved with recruiting on a daily basis, in addition to other tasks. The jumps squad included sophomore Justin Dreyling, who earned All-America honors with a fourth-place finish in the triple jump at the NCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field Championships and broke the school record in the event (15.09m).

Prior to his time at Mount St. Joseph, Truss spent the 2019-20 and 2020-21 seasons as an assistant cross country and track and field coach at Heidelberg University, helping the women’s long jump squad to a national ranking as high as No. 7 in the country and assisting with bringing in two of the largest first-year classes in recent program history. Truss began his coaching career as a graduate assistant coach at Hanover College during the 2018-19 season.

Prior to coming to St. Olaf, Truss coached five All-Americans, seven national qualifiers, 19 all-region honorees, two conference champions, and 10 all-conference selections. He was a three-time national qualifier and three-time all-region honoree during his career at Wilmington and was ranked as high as No. 6 in the country in the high jump. He was also a three-time All-Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) honoree in the high jump, including winning the outdoor conference title in the event in 2017.

Truss graduated from Wilmington in 2018 with a bachelor of science degree in exercise science. He is certified through the USTFCCCAÂ and holds ALTIS certifications in the short sprints, pole vault, and high jump.
