Carter Richey is in his first season as an assistant coach for the St. Olaf baseball program in 2026-27.
Richey joined the coaching staff at St. Olaf after concluding his playing career at the NCAA Division I level. Richey spent seasons at Lipscomb University and Virginia Commonwealth University before finishing his career at Villanova University as the Wildcats' primary catcher in 2026.
In the summer of 2026, Richey served as the hitting coach and head of position player development for the Olney Cropdusters in the Cal Ripken Sr. Collegiate Baseball League. In that role, he helped the Cropdusters to a regular-season title and their first-ever league championship.
Richey has also worked as a private hitting and player development coach, a hitting instructor for JP3 Baseball, and was the camp director for the Olney Cropdusters Baseball Camps.
