Chris Brinkworth is in his sixth season as an assistant coach for the St. Olaf men's and women's track & field programs in 2022-23 after joining the coaching staff in the winter of 2017. He works primarily with the throwers.
Prior to his stay at St. Olaf, Brinkworth coached high school student-athletes in the Twin Cities for over 15 years. He helped numerous all-state, state champion and state record holders in the shot put and discus.Â
Brinkworth was recruited and coached by legendary former St. Olaf head men's cross country/track & field coach Phil Lundin while at the University of Minnesota, where he won Big Ten Championships and was an All-America honoree in both the shot put and discus.
A USA Track & Field Level 1 certified coach, Brinkworth is a senior clinician for the Minnesota Throws Club and oversees shot put development.
