Jon Kreidler is in his first season as a full-time assistant coach for the St. Olaf men's basketball program in 2026-27 after being hired in June 2026.
Kreidler joined head coach John Cheng’s staff after spending the last three seasons on the staff at Carroll University. After two years as a graduate assistant coach for the Pioneers, Kreidler was promoted to an assistant coach in 2025-26. Carroll qualified for the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin (CCIW) Tournament in two of Kreidler’s three seasons after winning just seven games the season before he joined the staff. His first day at St. Olaf will be July 1.
 Â
As an assistant coach at Carroll in 2026, Kreidler was involved in every aspect of the program. He was the director of basketball operations, designed and led in-season player development workouts, recorded and managed the team’s analytics/statistics, and assisted in recruitment. The Pioneers had two Second Team All-CCIW selections, as well as four Academic All-CCIW and two College Sports Communicators Academic All-District honorees this winter.
Â
In 2023-24 and 2024-25, Kreidler was Carroll’s graduate assistant coach, working as the assistant recruiting coordinator and varsity reserve head coach. He has also been a player development director and coach at Chapman Basketball Academy for the last two years, coaching a variety of U8-U17 teams.
Â
Kreidler played one year of basketball at Loras College before injuries cut his career short, but he stayed involved with the program as a student assistant for player development. He graduated from Loras in 2023 with a bachelor’s degree in finance and earned a master of business administration from Carroll in 2025.
