Teagan Olin '18 is in his third season as the head coach of the St. Olaf men's and women's alpine skiing teams in 2026-27 after being hired in August 2024.
St. Olaf's men's and women's teams have both qualified for the U.S. Collegiate Ski and Snowboard Association (USCSA) National Championships in each of his two seasons as head coach. The women have placed in the top 10 in the combined standings both years, finishing tied for sixth in 2025-26 and 10th in 2024-25. The men tied for ninth in 2024-25 and were 22nd in 2025-26.Â
His alpine teams have helped the Oles win the women's President's Award and finish second in the men's standings in each of his two seasons. The President's Award is given to the institution with the highest joint finish in alpine and Nordic skiing at the USCSA National Championships.
A four-time All-American at St. Olaf, Olin returned to the Hill to lead the programs he was an assistant coach for in 2018-19 after graduating from St. Olaf in 2018. He also brings nearly a decade of experience coaching International Ski and Snowboard Federation (FIS) and U.S. Ski and Snowboard (USSA) level athletes with Team Afton Racing.
During his time as a student-athlete at St. Olaf, Olin helped the Ole men to three fifth-place finishes at the USCSA National Championships while earning four USCSA All-America accolades individually. He was a Second Team All-American in the slalom as a first year by placing ninth, a Second Team All-American in the giant slalom as a junior after placing 10th, a First Team All-American in the slalom as a senior after placing third, and a Second Team All-American in the giant slalom as a senior after placing 12th. The two-time team captain concluded his career with a fifth-place finish in the individual combined standings in 2018 and was a USCSA Scholar All-American all four years.
Olin has worked as a coach for Team Afton Racing Team since December 2014, starting as an intern before moving into a more prominent role in August 2018. Since 2018, he has been a head FIS and USSA U16 coach, working with athletes aged 14-18 at week-night sessions and weekend races. Olin has also volunteered as a dryland instructor for Afton Alps Alpine Team since June 2014, guiding over 20 athletes aged 10-16 in their offseason training.
