PhotosNORTHFIELD, Minn. - The St. Olaf football team mounted a second half comeback, but fell to undefeated Gustavus Adolphus College 37-29 on Saturday at Manitou Field.
Ole running back J.J. Strnad rushed for 145 yards and two touchdowns while
Joel Reinhardt caught two touchdown passes in the loss. Reinhardt's second score brought the Oles within eight with 4:08 left.
Seamus Walsh then recovered the ensuing onside kick to give the St. Olaf offense a chance to tie. The Oles drove into the red zone, but a fourth down pass inside the final minute was intercepted by the Gusties' Xavier Fust to seal the victory for the visitors.
Reinhardt had six receptions for 105 yards while
Alex Nelson had eight for 128 yards. Gustavus was paced by Gabriel Boyce's 125 yards and three touchdowns and quarterback Mitch Hendricks, who threw for 282 yards and the three scores.

Nate Penz was 20-for-41 with two touchdowns and two interceptions.
Coleman Foley intercepted a pass for the Ole defense, which started the day with a pair of stops. Gustavus then scored touchdowns on five of its next six possessions.
