Nick Marsh's goal in the second period proved to be the game-winner as St. Olaf topped St. Thomas 2-1 in a MIAC men's hockey on Saturday night at Northfield Ice Arena.
Steve Papciak made 27 saves as the Oles (2-6, 1-3-0 MIAC) picked up their first league win.
Tim Tuscher assisted on each St. Olaf goal. Down 1-0 early in the second,
Mark Rath netted a power play score at 2:57 on feeds from Tuscher and
Marc Richards. Marsh's game-winner came at 6:48 of the second.
St. Thomas had its goal from Alex Altenbernd at 13:24 of the first period on assists from Bobby Murphy and Jordan Lovick.
St. Olaf held a 31-28 edge in shots including a 21-15 advantage over the final two periods.
