NORTHFIELD, Minn. - Saint John's University scored four times in a six-plus minute stretch of the first half on the way to a 4-1 victory over St. Olaf in the semifinal round of the MIAC men's soccer playoffs on Wednesday afternoon at Rolf Mellby Field.
The Johnnies (13-6-0) had goals from four different players -- Rocky Harmon, Alex Niederloh, Paul Wageman and Zane Heinselman -- in the win. Harmon and Niderloh's goals were within 35 seconds of each other, at 13:32 and 14:07. Wageman banged in the third SJU goal off of the left upright at 20:14.
Jens Undlin had his 15th goal of the year with 8:56 remaining for St. Olaf (12-5-2) to avert the shutout.
The loss snapped a seven-game (6-0-1) unbeaten streak for the Oles, the MIAC regular season champions, at Rolf Mellby Field. St. Olaf finished the 2014 campaign 9-2-1 at home.SJU, which held a 10-4 advantage in shots, will play at Gustavus Adolphus College on Saturday in the MIAC final.Â
