#20 Oles lose first game at Bethel

ARDEN HILLS, Minn.- St. Olaf got within one point with 4:01 to play but Bethel ended the game on a 15-6 run and beat the Oles 67-57 Saturday afternoon in Arden Hills.

St. Olaf (5-1, 1-1 MIAC) never led in the game, losing for the first time after starting the season with five straight wins. Justin Pahl led the Oles with 18 points, including 11-for-11 from the free throw line. Ben Figini (15) and Sterling Nielsen (11) also scored in double figures.

Bethel (4-1, 1-0 MIAC) had four players score in double figures, including Kyle Zimmermann, who scored 14 points and added 14 rebounds. The Royals held a slight 38-35 rebounding advantage but 13-7 on the offensive end.

Bethel took 15 more shots in the game, making four more field goals, and held a 34-20 points in the paint advantage. St. Olaf turned the ball over 18 times compared to eight by the Royals which led to a 19-7 Bethel advantage in points off turnovers.

The Oles will be back in action on Wednesday when they take on St. John's in MIAC play on the road beginning at 7 p.m.
