Box Score ST. PETER, Minn. - The St. Olaf men's tennis team dropped an 8-1 decision
to Gustavus Adolphus College in the MIAC Playoff championship on Sunday
afternoon.
St. Olaf had its lone victory from
Matt Christensen at the No. 5 singles
spot. Christensen won the first set 6-3, droped the second 4-6 and finished
with a 10-3 third set tie-breaker.
The 15th-ranked Gusties had straight-set wins in each of the other five
singles matches and held off St. Olaf in all three doubles flights.
Joey Kronzer and
Stephen Nolan dropped an 8-5 match at No. 1.
The championship appearance was the second in the last five seasons for St.
Olaf. Gustavus has now won seven of the last eight MIAC postseason titles.
