NORTHFIELD, Minn.- The St. Olaf men's hockey team hung on after leading 2-0 to beat Finlandia University with a final score of 2-1 Saturday night.
Ole Setsaas scored in the 13th minute to give St. Olaf an early lead with build up play from
Jonas Fredriksson and
Nick Marsh assisting the goal.
Matt Geurts capitalized on a 5 vs 3 power play in the second period to give the Oles a 2-0 lead, and what would be the game winning goal.
Lane King scored for Finlandia with less than five minutes of game time remaining, but St. Olaf held the 2-1 lead until the final buzzer.Â
Luke Andruik earned his first collegiate victory as goalkeeper for St. Olaf, playing all 60 minutes of the game and making 21 saves throughout the three periods.Â
The St. Olaf men play Hamline University next Saturday in St. Paul, Minnesota.
