Game Recap: Men's Basketball |

Majeskie's career night leads to win at Concordia

MOORHEAD, Minn.- Austin Majeskie finished with 22 points and 10 rebounds, both career-highs, as the St. Olaf men's basketball team beat Concordia-Moorhead 72-48 Monday night at Memorial Auditorium.

The double-double by Majeski was the first of his career. His father, Dennis, played collegiately for the North Dakota State Bison in Fargo, ND just minutes away from Monday's site.

St. Olaf (13-1, 8-1 MIAC) used the career night by Majeski to hold a 38-20 advantage in bench points. The Oles ramped up the defensive effort and allowed a season-low 48 points.

Concordia (8-6, 4-5 MIAC) had trouble getting any consistent offense established. When the Cobbers did score St. Olaf answered. The longest run by Concordia was a 7-0 stretch and only twice in the game did the Cobbers have a run of more than one bucket. The Oles turned the ball over just six times and led 16-1 in points off turnovers.

Riley Aeikens dished out six assists while Ben Figini, Mason Braden and Sterling Nielsen also joined Majeski by scoring in double figures for St. Olaf.

The win sets up a Wednesday matchup between the MIAC's top two teams as the Oles host St. Thomas with first place on the line. Tip-off at Skoglund Center is set for 7 p.m.
