NORTHFIELD, Minn. - Breanna Peterson netted two goals and an assist to lead Saint Mary's University to a 4-2 victory over the St. Olaf women's hockey team on Friday night at the Pepsi Center.
Kassie Lien also picked up a goal and an assist in the win for SMU (8-8-2, 6-4-1 MIAC). St. Olaf (1-15-2, 0-9-2 MIAC) was outshot 31-24.
St. Olaf's Caroline Ponessa started the scoring half way through the first period. SMU would then score two to take a 2-1 lead into the first intermission. Drue Engleman scored the only goal of the second period to tie the game going into the third.
SMU came off the break to scored two goals within the first six minutes of the third period.
St. Olaf will head to Winona, Minn. tomorrow night to play the back end of the weekend doubleheader against SMU.
