NORTHFIELD, Minn. - Paige Wilberding scored the only goal in the 89th minute to give St. Thomas a 1-0 MIAC victory over the Oles on Tuesday afternoon at Rolf Mellby Field.
The two teams were even across the two periods, both finishing with eight shots, and three on goal. St. Olaf (3-6-4, 2-4-1 MIAC) led the Tommies in corner kicks 3-2.
Tarynn Theilig earned the shutout for St. Thomas (7-4-1, 5-1-1 MIAC) turning away the three shots the Oles directed onto goal. For St. Olaf,
Hannah Stoker and
Madison Van Wylen led the team with three shots each.
The Oles play their next match on Saturday at Saint Mary's in Winona, Minn.
