Tommies overcome Oles with late goal

NORTHFIELD, Minn. - Paul Florczak scored the Tommies' second goal in the 84th minute to lift St. Thomas over St. Olaf 2-1 for a MIAC men's soccer victory on Wednesday evening at Rolf Mellby Field. 

The Oles' goal was scored by Kevin Skrip and marked the 34th of his career, which is the most career goals scored by an Ole in at least 10 seasons. Skrip's goal came at 25:29 to give St. Olaf a 1-0 lead. UST's Jamie Collins tied the game at 67:02 on an assist by Florczak.

The Oles finished the match with 11 shots and six shots on goal. The Tommies finished with ten shots and four on goal.  St. Olaf (7-6-0, 4-2-0 MIAC) led St. Thomas (8-5-0, 4-3-0 MIAC) in corner kicks 5-2. 

St. Olaf will travel to Saint Mary's University in Winona, Minn. on Saturday at 3:30 p.m.
