WINONA, Minn. - McKenna Parent's power-play goal at 9:12 of the third period lifted Saint Mary's University to a 2-1 MIAC women's hockey victory over visiting St. Olaf on Friday night.
Jane Vezina scored for St. Olaf (0-5-1, 0-2-1 MIAC) in the loss.
Bridget Roche and
Maddy Johnson assisted on the score, which tied the game at 1-1, with 2:48 left in the second period.
The Oles had five shots on a late power play opportunity in the third period but could not score.Â
Both of the Cardinals' goals were on the power play. Jamie Henderson broke a scoreless tie with her goal on assists from Macki Fadness and Taylor Pogreba. Fadness had the lone assist on Parent's game-winner.
The teams meet tomorrow afternoon at Northfield Ice Arena at 3 p.m.
