NORTHFIELD, Minn. -
Ben Figini's 10 second half points sparked No. 15 St. Olaf, which overcame an eight-point halftime deficit on the way to a 65-60 MIAC men's basketball win over Concordia-Moorhead on Wednesday night at Skoglund Center.
Riley Aeikens had 17 points while Sterling Nielsen added 14  for the Oles (21-4, 16-4 MIAC), who will be the No. 2 seed in the upcoming MIAC playoffs. St. Olaf will host a semifinal game on Friday, Feb. 27.  St. Thomas (21-3, 16-3 MIAC), which clinched the top seed, lost in overtime to Bethel on Wednesday.Â
Jordan Bolger had 15 points and 14 rebounds to lead the Cobbers (14-10, 10-9 MIAC).Â
Figini left the game minutes into the first half after being struck in the mouth, cutting his lip, and did not return until midway through the second half. When he returned, St. Olaf trailed 38-36 before his two straight buckets gave the Oles' their first lead of the second half. Over the first seven-plus minutes Figini played in the second half, the Oles went on a 17-5 run.
The Oles sealed the victory by making 9-of-10 from the line in the final 42 seconds. St. Olaf was 19-for-24 in the game and the Cobbers 22-of-28. Each team was 30 percent from the arc.Â
The victory capped an incredible regular season for St. Olaf. The team's 21 victories are one shy of the school record, set last season (22-6).Â
