NORTHFIELD, Minn.- Concordia College scored a goal in the opening minute of all three periods which propelled the Cobbers to an 8-0 win over St. Olaf in women's hockey action Friday night at Northfield Ice Arena.

Just 28 seconds into the game, Kelsey Vandegrift gave Concordia (8-10-2, 7-4-2 MIAC) a 1-0 lead. The Cobbers would add another goal in the opening period to take a 2-0 advantage into the first intermission.

With 59 seconds elapsed in the second period, Kristin Drechsel scored to put Concordia up 3-0, a lead that would be 5-0 after two periods.

Even quicker than the first two periods, the Cobbers scored 27 seconds into the final period and cruised to an 8-0 win.

Megan Skelly tallied a team-high six shots for St. Olaf (1-17-2, 0-11-2 MIAC) as the Oles were outshot 54-29 for the game. Sam Ubl made all 12 saves after entering the crease with just over 11 minutes to play in the final period.

St. Olaf will host Concordia again tomorrow in a matinee affair at 2 p.m.
