ROCK ISLAND, Ill. - Garrett Stephenson had 17 points as Marietta came-from-behind to defeat St. Olaf 79-72 in the third round of the NCAA Division III Men's Basketball Championship on Friday night in Rock Island, Ill. The Oles (23-6) were led by Ben Figini's 18 points and 14 from Sterling Nielsen. 

St. Olaf led by as many as 12 in the second half, but Marietta used a 19-5 run in the middle of the second half to take a 65-61 lead with 5:12 left. St. Olaf got within one twice, but Marietta made its free throws down the stretch to move on to the round of eight. 

The Oles had a mere two turnovers in the first half, but Marietta forced eight in the final 20 minutes that led to 12 points. 

The NCAA appearance was the second straight for St. Olaf, which finished the season with a school record 23 wins. Austin Majeskie and Riley Aeikens added 11 points each in the loss for the Oles. Aeikens added six rebounds and five assists. 

Marietta's RaNeal Ewing had 16 points while Eddy Grenert had a double-double with 14 points and 10 rebounds. 

The meeting was the first all-time between the schools.
