Box Score Box

OWATONNA, Minn. - Multiple tiebreakers dictated the outcome of the St. Olaf and St. Thomas men's tennis match on Tuesday night.

Stephen Nolan shone for the Oles, defeating Brady Radermacher 6-0, 6-0 in the second singles match which was by far the most lopsided match of the night.

Seven of the nine matches featured a tiebreaker, and the Oles were able to capitalize on four of those matches.  Joey Kronzer, playing in his second consecutive first singles match, defeated Luke Elifson 3-6, 6-4 and 10-8 in the tiebreaker.  Nolan and Kronzor had to go to extra points to win the first singles match, and Matthew Christensen and Keenan Gladd-Brown paired up in the third singles match to score a 8-5 win for the Oles.

Nico Gibb and Mike Schroeder both locked up wins for the Oles in fifth and sixth singles matches winning with scores of 7-6 (7-5), 6-3 and 7-6 (7-2), 6-2 respectively.

St. Thomas (9-4, 5-2 MIAC) looks to lock up a spot in the MIAC championships on Thursday against Macalester, while St. Olaf (7-4, 6-2 MIAC) has already clinched a spot in the 2015 MIAC playoffs.

The Oles return to the court in their final regular season match on Saturday against Bethel University.
