NORTHFIELD, Minn. - The St. Olaf women's tennis team advanced to the MIAC semifinals with a 7-2 victory over St. Catherine University on Wednesday afternoon at Carlson Courts.
St. Olaf (12-5, 7-3 MIAC) dropped the No. 3 singles match to Kylie Ketcho, 6-4, 6-4. St. Kate's (11-6, 6-4 MIAC) also won the No. 1 doubles match 9-7, with the team of Ketcho and Mikinzee Salo.
St. Olaf won all of their matches in straight sets except for one. Kristi Kroker dropped the first set and won the second in the No. 2 singles match. The third set tiebreaker went back and forth, before Kroker broke serve in the 25th point to win 5-7, 6-4, 14-12.
The Oles will head to St. Peter, Minn. on Friday afternoon to take on Gustavus in the next round.
