NORTHFIELD, Minn. - Visiting Hamline University swept a MIAC softball doubleheader from St. Olaf, 6-0 and 5-3, on Wednesday afternoon at Mabel Shirley Field.
Game One: Hamline 6, St. Olaf 0
St. Olaf (7-16, 2-3 MIAC) only managed five hits compared to Hamline's (13-6, 6-1 MIAC) 13.
Hamline was led by Amanda Orrell at the plate, who went 3-for-4 on the day with a run batted in and two runs. Chelsea Koehn led the Pipers in RBIs with two.
Game Two: Hamline 5, St. Olaf 3
St. Olaf got on the board first with an RBI single by Brooke Paradise the bottom of the first inning.
St. Olaf managed to take a 3-1 lead in the fourth inning by RBIs from both Afton Wolter and Jenna Boudreau.
Hamline scored two runs in each the fifth and sixth inning to take the lead and win the game.
St. Olaf had 12 hits in the loss compared to Hamlines 10.
St. Olaf will head to Winona, Minn. on Friday for a MIAC doubleheader against Saint Mary's University.
