ARDEN HILLS, Minn. - The St. Olaf volleyball team split its two matches at the Bethel University Invitational on Friday, defeating Martin Luther College 3-1 (29-31, 25-9, 25-21, 25-16) before a 3-0 defeat (26-24, 25-21, 25-14) at the hands of UW-Superior.
Kathryn Johnson and
Megan Grimes had 11 kills each while
Kersten Bork had 32 set assists in the four-set victory. MLC, which outlasted St. Olaf 31-29 in the opening set, had a match-best 16 kills from Kira Grev in the loss.
In the second match of the day, UW-Superior hit .276 and .233 in the first two sets while limiting the Oles to marks of .176 and .029.
Sophie Schwartz had seven kills to pace the Oles.
