PhotosNORTHFIELD, Minn. - Despite an early 2-0 lead, the St. Olaf women's hockey team fell to Saint Ben's 5-2 on Friday night at the Northfield Ice Arena.
Megan Skelly and
Hannah Forliti scored within two minutes of each other in the first period to give the Oles a 2-0 lead. St. Olaf (1-12-1, 0-6-1 MIAC) didn't have an answer for the Saint Ben's (4-9-1, 2-4-1 MIAC) in the second or third periods as they then scored five unanswered goals for the win.
Riley Anderson, Beckey Weingarten and
Megan Skelly all had an assist in the loss. Goalies
Cassie Alexander and
Hailey Sampson combined for 16 total saves.
Elli Marvin and Liz Hermes had two goals apiece for the Blazers.
The Oles will travel to Saint Ben's tomorrow afternoon for a 1:45 p.m. game in St. Joseph, Minn.
