NORTHFIELD, Minn. - The St. Olaf men's soccer team tied the No. 6 ranked Macalester College by a score of 1-1 after two overtime periods on Saturday afternoon at Rolf Mellby Field.
Macalester's (8-0-2, 3-0-2 MIAC) Clayton Smith scored the first goal of the game, coming in the 20
th minute.
St. Olaf (4-1-4, 2-0-3 MIAC) was awarded a penalty kick in the 81
st minute, the Ole's
Pato Cortina capitalized on the penalty and tied the game at one.
Macalester outshot the Oles 15-8 in the contest, with seven and three shots on goal respectively.
St. Olaf had three yellow cards in the match, compared to the Scotts one.
St. Olaf will head to Waverly, Iowa tomorrow afternoon to face Wartburg College.
