Game Recap: Women's Soccer |

Tommies defeat Oles 1-0

ST. PAUL, Minn. - Despite eight shots on goal, the St. Olaf women's soccer team was defeated by the team from St. Thomas by a score of 1-0 on Wednesday afternoon.

After a scoreless first half, Brie Bourdage broke the 0-0 tie in the 67th minute on a goal assisted by Mary Ennis and Mallory DeBoom. St. Olaf (6-4-0, 3-3-0 MIAC) led in corner kicks (6-4) and shots (14-13), but were unable to find the back of the net over the 90 minute match.

The Oles had several chances, including eight shots on goal, but all eight were converted into saves by St. Thomas keeper Tarynn Theiling.  Mackenzie Schoustra led the Oles with two shots on goal, then six others had one shot apiece.  Julie Johnson faced five shots on goal, making four saves.

St. Olaf competes next on Saturday when they travel to St. Paul again to play St. Catherine in another MIAC matchup.
