WHITEWATER, Wis. - After a scoreless first half, the St. Olaf men's soccer team played to a 2-2 tie against Wisconsin Whitewater on Saturday afternoon at Fiskum Field.
Aaron Miller opened the scoring with a header in the 47th minute off of a pass from
Tylor Rosera. Â Wisconsin Whitewater (7-3-3) scored the equalizer in the 63rd minute after Taylor Ortiz found a way to beat
Randall Rude. Â Rude faced eight shots on the day, making six saves. Â Rosera broke the 1-1 tie with another header goal in the 65th minute to the give the Oles an advantage going into the final 25 minutes of play. Â
Pato Cortina was on for the assist for the Oles.
Alex Whiteman scored a goal with 2:04 remaining in the match to tie the duel at two apiece.
St. Olaf (4-2-5, 2-0-3 MIAC) was outshot by the Warhawks (17-11) and corners (7-3).
The Oles play next at the University of St. Thomas on Wednesday afternoon in St. Paul.
