LOS ANGELES - The St. Olaf women's basketball team shot a mere 26.4 percent from the floor in a 50-42 loss at Occidental College on Friday afternoon.
Makenna Ash had 10 points,
Ella Skrien nine and
Betsey Daly eight points for the Oles (1-3) in the loss. Occidental was paced by Emily Leonard's eight points.Â
The Tigers (3-1) weren't much better from the field, shooting 34.6 percent (18-for-52). Occidental had only nine turnovers while St. Olaf had 15.Â
The Oles led by as many as nine in the opening minutes, at 14-5. Occidental countered with a 9-0 run and led 24-18 at the half. St. Olaf struggled to find its ways on offense as the Tigers opened up a 16-point fourth quarter lead.Â
St. Olaf will finish its trip with a 3 p.m. (PST) game at Caltech tomorrow afternoon.Â
