Ben Figini had 14 points to lead for Oles in double figures as the St. Olaf men's basketball team held off Carleton 68-59 in a MIAC men's basketball game on Saturday afternoon at Skoglund Center.
Evan O'Dorisio and
Justin Pahl added 13 points each while
Riley Aeikens had 10 for the Oles (13-8, 11-5 MIAC). Â St. Olaf built a 17-point first half lead and held on to complete a two-game sweep of Carleton.
Beau Smit had a game-high 17 points, going 5-of-6 from the arc to lead the Knights. Kevin Grow added 12 points and 14 rebounds in the loss. Carleton used a 24-7 run over a 10-plus minute stretch at the end of the first and beginning of the second half to turn the 17-point deficit to a lead. The Knights led by as many as six, at 54-48 with 5:42 left, before the Oles scored seven straight.Â
The Oles made five of their last six free throws and closed the game on a 13-2 run. St. Olaf has won eight of the last nine in the series.Â
