NAPLES, Fla. - St. Olaf split a softball doubleheader with Mount St. Mary (N.Y.) on Tuesday, winning the opener 4-3 before dropping game two, 8-4.
Game One: St. Olaf 4, Mount St. Mary 3Jessica Bentley's three-run homer in the third inning tied the game at 3-3 and the Oles picked up a go-ahead run in the fourth on a throwing error.
Alex Lopez got the win for St. Olaf, allowing an earned run in the complete game win. She struck out five and walked none.
Game Two: Mount St. Mary 8, St. Olaf 4Mount St. Mary scored three in the third and five more in the fourth inning on the way to the 8-4 win. The Knights had 14 hits.
Becca Walz went 2-for-3 for the Oles with a homer and three RBI.
