PLYMOUTH, Minn. - No. 23 St. Thomas swept an MIAC softball doubleheader from St. Olaf on Saturday evening, 8-0 and 7-0, at the City of Plymouth Fieldhouse Dome.
Game One: St. Thomas 8, St. Olaf 0Brenna Walek homered twice as the Tommies scored five times in the fifth inning to win a run-rule decision over the Oles. Kierstin Anderson-Glass struck out eight and walked none in a two-hit shutout for UST.
Stephanie Borndale and
Jessica Bentley had hits for the Oles.
Game Two: St. Thomas 7, St. Olaf 0The Tommies used a four-run third inning and held St. Olaf to one hit in the 7-0 win. Melissa Barry was 2-for-3 with two runs and two RBIs and Micaela Trainor homered for the Tommies, who have won 11 in a row.
