NORTHFIELD, Minn. - The St. Olaf softball team lost the first game and won the second game versus MIAC opponent St. Catherine University in a doublheader on Wedesday evening, 9-1 and 4-3, at Mabel Shirley Field.
Game One: St. Catherine 9, St. Olaf 1The Wildcats had 16 hits to the Oles' 2. Kylie Macziewski, Sammie Galvez and Donielle Kurvers all had homeruns for St. Kate's. St. Olaf's lone run was brought in by a
Jessica Bentley double in the bottom of the fourth inning.
Emily Carr had a hit and
Woo Bandel had a stolen base in the loss.
Game Two: St. Olaf 4, St. Catherine 3St. Olaf had a productive fifth inning to go ahead of St. Kate's 4-2 after an
Emily Carr three-run homerun.
Woo Bandel and Carolyn Kinn counted as two of Carr's RBIs. The Wildcats scored on an Ole error at second base to make it 4-3 in the top of the sixth inning.
Jessica Bentley led the Oles on the mound with six strikeouts.
Woo Bandel and
Abbey Smith had a double each.
