St. Olaf drops both to HU at CHS Field

ST. PAUL, Minn.- The St. Olaf baseball team had a six-run seventh inning to tie the first game at eight in a 9-8 loss to Hamline University in game one of Tuesday afternoon's MIAC doubleheader at the St. Paul Saints new stadium, CHS Field. St. Olaf managed five hits in game two, losing 6-2.  

Game One: Hamline 9, St. Olaf 8
St. Olaf (8-21, 2-12 MIAC) capitalized on a string of walks and hits in the seventh inning rally. Hamline (20-10, 10-4 MIAC) paired a stolen base with an RBI single to left field to secure the 9-8 victory in the bottom of the inning.

Sam Stuckmayer led St. Olaf with two RBIs, going 1-for-3 from the plate.

Hamline's Collin Olstad went 2-for-4, with one RBI and a double in the victory.

Hamline tallied 12 hits in the contest compared to the Oles' four.

Game Two: Hamline 6, St. Olaf 2
Joe Keiski led St. Olaf at the plate as the DH, going 2-for-4 with two RBIs in the loss.

Jacob Picht secured the victory for the Pipers, hitting a two-run homerun in the bottom of the fifth inning to put Hamline up 3-0. Picht went 2-for-4 with RBIs

Thomas Peterson was dealt the loss for the Oles, pitching seven innings and striking out four batters.

Zach Smith (2-1) struck out two batters and recorded the win for Hamline, with Aaron Stoneberg getting his third save of the season.

St. Olaf will head to La Crosse, Wis. on Thursday afternoon to take on UW-La Crosse for a non-MIAC doubleheader.
