NORTHFIELD, Minn. - St. Olaf scored four times in its final two at bats in a 5-2 win in game one of a MIAC baseball split with No. 11 St. Thomas on Saturday at Mark Almli Field. UST won the second game 10-7.
Game One: St. Olaf 5, St. Thomas 2
Thomas Peterson went 2-for-4, drove in a run and picked up the save in relief in the Oles' win, which snapped a five-game losing skid.
Kap Davis and
Joe Keiski each went 1-for-3 with an RBI, while
Will Cipos came off the bench and delivered an RBI-single and a run in his only at bat.
Will Gustafson worked six innings, allong two earned runs while striking out two and walking one in the win.
Game Two: St. Thomas 10, St. Olaf 7
St. Thomas overcame a 6-1 deficit with a seven-run sixth inning to save a split.
Jake Smith was 3-for-5 and Cory Quinlan 2-for-4 with two runs and an RBI for the Tommies.
Tim Maus was 2-for-3 with three runs, a walk and an RBI for St. Olaf. Peterson,
Sam Stuckmayer and
Will Cipos also had two hits for the Oles in game two.
