NORTHFIELD, Minn. - St. Olaf closed its home schedule with a 10-2 and 5-2 sweep of Macalester College on Saturday at Mabel Shirley Field.
Game One: St. Olaf 10, Macalester 2
Emily Carr hit a two-run, walk-off homer as the Oles scored a run-rule victory in the opener. St. Olaf struck for five runs in the first inning and added two in the second.
Stephanie Borndale and
Becca Walz were each 2-for-2 while
Abbey Smith was 2-for-3 with two RBI.
Jenna Boudreau drove in three runs on a 1-for-3 effort at the plate. Boudreau cleared the bases with her double in the first.
Alex Lopez allowed two hits, each homers, and struck out four to get the complete game win.
Game Two: St. Olaf 5, Macalester 2
Walz (2-for-3) and
Jessica Bentley (2-for-2) had two hits each as the Oles scored twice in the fourth and fifth innings. Lopez worked the first three innings and Bentley the final four to get the win.
The final home game for the senior class featured the Oles' second sweep of the MIAC season.
Walz has hit safely in eight of her last 10 games, going 13-for-32 (.406) in the stretch.
St. Olaf has a non-conference doubleheader at Martin Luther on Monday before closing the season at Concordia-Moorhead on Wednesday.
